as general commercial builders and gradually moved to the design and
installation of specialised sports surfaces as technology improved their

We install a range of top quality, sports association approved artificial grass Astroturf sports surfaces, many of which are manufactured in the UK by our preferred supplier Playrite.
Our surfaces are the direct descents of the original AstroTurf. AstroTurf is the recognised brand name for artificial grass and since its creation in 1965 has become the generic term for artificial grass. Originally called ChemGrass it was rebranded to Astroturf after being installed at the Houston Astrodome stadium in 1966.
Since the creation of AstroTurf, artificial grass surfaces have undergone many transformations with the development of materials technology and manufacturing processes.
Nowadays it can be hard to tell the difference between artificial grass and the real thing – except for the all year round good looks and low maintenance.
About Us - Playturf Ltd is run by brothers Adrian and Trevor Sawyer, making Playturf very much a family run business.
Our head office is based in Luton,
Bedfordshire and we are happy to install surfaces across the heart of England,

Managing Director
As MD at Playturf Adrian will be your first point of contact for quoting and estimating. You will meet Adrian when he comes for the initial site survey and he will be happy to discuss the best choice of surfaces to meet your situation and budget.
Adrian started his career within construction and he is well placed to identify any critical groundwork or drainage that may need improving or installing to insure the long life of your new facility.

Playturf is a
family business and brother Trevor is responsible for managing our construction
teams and overseeing installations. By the nature of our work we are accustomed
to scheduling work during time critical school and holiday closures.
